Bro Gogh - I think we are in good company - us armchair defeatists, can sit alongside our fellow armchair scientists.

See - we can all get along! :D

LOL - even armchair scientists are subject to hostility.

Must be all that dissonance!

RE: Global Warming: Heating Up…or Cooling Down?

Hi Beau,
Comments relevant to the points raised would be appreciated.

I thought you, of most people, would know of the retreat of NZ's glaciers over the last 100 years?

It's a bit weak saying something is due to the temperature, not the CO2. :) :) :) Its a joke not a scientific comment.
CO2 is a factor in the Earth's heat budget as is our position in the precession cycle, and the thermal inertia of the oceans, etc etc..

If the atmosphere had no CO2, it is reckoned the the Earth would be a frozen world.
Science has known for a long time CO2 traps infrared (heat) in the atmosphere, as does water vapour.

Education is the key. Skeptics tend not to be in touch with their environment, unlike digging, who sees the effects on her environment.

The statement that the Earth's cooling, based on short cyclical variations, is a weak argument ...don't you guys in Canada know the permafrost is retreating north? What trend do the NZ glaciers, the permafrost and spring coming two weeks earlier in the UK than 40 years ago, indicate?

Interpretum realized, when he investigated, he had been spouting warming skeptic bilge about volcanoes being worse sources of CO2 than man!

regards
Derek

Yes that's right if there was no rays from the sun we would not have any climate change no matter how much CO2 and other pollution there was!

BECAUSE of the pollution every little extra bit of radiation that does come to the earth is adding to the changing climate!

CO2 is like alcohol it only takes a small % to make you lose your balance, get sick etc.

We are practicing 'druggery' against our earth.

Absolutely correct Digging. Gogh fails to take on board what the majority of scientists are saying with their peer reviewed papers on this subject or the oil companies agenda to bury the understanding that the problem is man made. Its a replay in many ways of what the cigarette companies did in order to stop people from understanding that they caused cancer.

Links are not your words and thoughts. This is starting to remind me of watchtower parroting.

RE: Global Warming: Heating Up…or Cooling Down?

Imo, posted links (most), contribute to the subject of this topic. (Often very well researched material contained in links, presents information in a much more intelligible manner than I am capable of. I am sorry if my style is viewed in the style of watchtower parroting. I do not believe so, nor do I believe the Watchtower has anything to do with this topic or my style of participation at Paradise Cafe.)
