Poetic Translation

The following are from the ISV the International Standard Version.

When the New Testament quotes something that is poetic they put it into metre with rhyme.

I thought they were beautiful.

ISV: Philippians Chapter 2

[5] Have the same attitude among yourselves that was also in Christ Jesus:
[6] In God's own form existed he, And shared with God equality, Deemed nothing needed grasping.
[7] Instead, poured out in emptiness, A servant's form did he possess, A mortal man becoming. In human form he chose to be,
[8] And lived in all humility, Death on a cross obeying.
[9] Now lifted up by God to heaven, A name above all others given, This matchless name possessing.
[10] And so, when Jesus’ name is called, The knees of everyone should fall Where'er they are residing.
[11] Then every tongue in one accord, Will say that Jesus Christ is Lord, While God the Father praising.

ISV: II Timothy Chapter 2

[11] This saying is trustworthy: In dying with Christ, true life we gain.
[12] Enduring, we with him shall reign. Who him denies, he will disclaim.
[13] Our faith may fail, his never wanes— For thus he is, he cannot change!

ISV: I Timothy 3:16. By common confession, the secret of our godly worship is great: In flesh was he revealed to sight, Kept righteous by the Spirit's might, Adored by angels singing. To nations was he manifest, Believing souls found peace and rest, Our Lord in heaven reigning!

ISV: Titus Chapter 1

[12] One of their very own prophets said, “Liars ever, men of Crete, Savage brutes that live to eat.”

ISV: Titus Chapter 3

[4] However, In grace our Savior God appeared, His love for mankind to make clear.
[5] ‘Twas not for deeds that we had done, But by his steadfast love alone, He saved us through a second birth, Renewed us by the Spirit's work,
[6] And poured him out upon us, too, Through Jesus Christ our Savior true.
[7] And so, made right by his own grace, Eternal life we now embrace.

"I remember two things: That I am a great sinner, and that Christ is a great Saviour." - John Newton
