TREES

TREES
by Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918)
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is pressed
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by people like me,
But only God can make a tree.

Hello BeginAgain,

This is a beautiful song too. Very old, way back in the early 1900's. Paul Robeson, with his rich bass voice. He also sings 'Ol' Man River' to perfection.

Hi Tess ~

I did not know it was set to music. :huh: I'll have to see if I can find that. One of my cousins sent me this along with dozens of beautiful pictures of all sorts of trees. I am always amazed at the variety that Jah has set before us to enjoy. It is a strong testament of his love for us. :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat:

your sis in the Faith,
Leisha
