What I don't like about that guy's bloated little triumph over the JW lady is this - he baited her. It wasn't about his love for Christ that urged him to witness to her about Jesus, no, it was his own pride in arguing over doctrine. He could've made a convert for Christ if he'd approached the woman with more of His love rather than out of his fleshly need to be so-called 'right'. Yah-rah, guy - you really told her, eh?! :(

Spot on Willa.

Doesn't matter how "right" one is doctrinally speaking, Satan can quote correct doctrine. When we speak to others about Jesus, we do so because we know Jesus loves them and his father desires their salvation. It'll never be about scoring points. Yes, we're called to refute lies but for a purpose, and that purpose is never about being right.

When He walked the earth, Jesus wasn't into changing peoples' minds or doctrine, he changed their lives - the rest just followed afterwards.

The word of our testimony and the blood of the lamb - not our clever sounding doctrine.

Not by might, or by power, but by my Spirit, says Adonai.

John 4:9...

"The Samaritan woman said to him, "How can you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?" For Jews do not have anything to do with Samaritans.
Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who is saying to you, 'Please give me a drink,' you would have been the one to ask him, and he would have given you living water."
The woman said to him, "Sir, you don't have a bucket, and the well is deep. Where are you going to get this living water?
You're not greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it, along with his sons and his flocks, are you?"
Jesus answered her, "Everyone who drinks this water will become thirsty again.
But whoever drinks the water that I will give him will never become thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."

We go in faith, our own great weakness feeling,
And needing more each day Thy grace to know:
Yet from our hearts a song of triumph pealing,
“We rest on Thee, and in Thy Name we go.”

I don't think I understand your point, John.

Hi Willa,

No problem, it happens more and more frequently, as the spirit of Emily Litella takes control of my keyboard.

So, to quote her immortal concluding statement...

"Nevermind"

A man dies when he refuses to stand up for that which is right. A man dies when he refuses to stand up for justice. A man dies when he refuses to take a stand for that which is true. - Martin Luther King, Jr.
