Jesus Prayer For His Disciples :heartbeat:
''I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and
I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name--the name you gave me--so that they may be one as we are one.'' John 17:11
''While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that
name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.'' (12)
''I am coming to you now, but I say these things while I am still in the world, so that they may have the full measure of my joy within them.'' (13)
''I have given them your word and the world has hated them, for they are not of the world any more than I am of the world.'' (14)
''My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.'' (15)
''They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.'' (16)
''Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.'' (17)
''As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world.'' (18)
''For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly santified.'' (19)
what is interesting to me especially is what Jesus prayed for concerning his disciples--protection, joy and strength to do their work.. :heartbeat:...a prayer that still works today as we strive to be the best Christians we are able to be--we are blessed friends to have this awareness :heartbeat:
''He is strong and can help you not to fall.
He can bring you before his glory without any
wrong in you and can give you great joy.'' Jude 24
''But the Lord is faithful and will give you
strength and will protect you from the Evil One.''
2 Thessalonians 3:3
and finally for today :heartbeat:
''May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father
encourage you and strengthen you in every good thing you
do and say. God loved us, and through his grace he gave us
a good hope and encouragement that continues forever.''
2 Thessalonians 2: 16,17 :heartbeat:
love you all friends ....:heartbeat: ...have a wonderful week-end...
''In the midst of winter I finally learned that in me there was an invincible summer.'' Albert Camus
