<> <> <> <> <> 1 Peter 5:8 <> <> <> <> <>

6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. 8 Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. 10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. 11 To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen.

How wise it is to be of 'sober spirit' and 'on the alert' against the clever machinations of the adversary of all truth. And it's good to know the conflict we see and feel in this world is recognized by others who are, like we, Lovers of Truth. It's a war out there - but we are fearless soldiers of faith for the Conquering Christ!

James 4:7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

1 Peter 1:13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

1 Thessalonians 5:8 But since we are of the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.

2 Corinthians 10:3-5a For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ,

2 Thessalonians 2:1-2 Now we request you, brethren, with regard to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, that you not be quickly shaken from your composure or be disturbed either by a spirit or a message or a letter as if from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come.

2 Timothy 2:3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. [NASB, all]

Love to all you fellow soldiers for the Lord!
Your sister, Willa
