We are on pretty familiar territory here this morning with this text :heartbeat:

It is all about Love :heartbeat: ..and not the easiest love of all but perhaps the most challenging and the most rare Yet the excelling kind you reach deep to find... :heartbeat:

LOVE FOR ENEMIES :heartbeat:

''You have heard that it was said, 'Love your neighbor and
hate your enemy,' Matthew 5: 43 ....

''But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those
who persecute you, (44) ..that you may be sons of your
Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil
and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the
unrighteous. (45) ..

our featured verse :heartbeat:

''If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?''
Are not even the tax collectors doing that?'' (46) ..notice--
even the ''tax collectors'' :D

''And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more
than others? Do not even pagans do that?'' (47)

and the end goal :heartbeat:

''Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.'' (48)

as I am thinking out loud I realize we can't ''be perfect'' as our heavenly Father is perfect but perhaps this is saying
it goes against our nature to live like this But that lack of love is tied
up in our imperfection--and to become more Godly we must overcome it and learn a different and more encompassing love--a different way to respond to those we are turned off by--reach for a love for those that aren't lovable and instead would harm us...''love your enemies'' --no small task friends...
it builds people that are changed and different from the inside out --
people that are patient, kind and not jealous. People that do not brag,
and that are not proud. People not rude, not selfish and don't get upset with others. No accounting of injuries, not happy with evil but happy with the truth. People that believe all things, trusting, hopeful and accepting and strong....people of love and a new creation
1 corinthians 13: 4-7.....

have a wonderful mid-summer sunday friends--stop and smell the roses while they are still with us...love to all :grouphug:

RE: Saturday, August 6

thanks Iso--I do believe cultivating this kind of love is perhaps more important than we realize and not only for our own personal spiritual growth but also to be able to reflect that light within us--the light that gives light to the world--I now believe the light of Jesus Christ is love--- :heartbeat:
