man hu,

Seems like the Russian Media is doing a way better job than anyone else keeping us posted on what is going on in England.

It is that irony, if there is anything at all which I enjoy about this .

I wonder what you base that on! Certainly not an objective assessment that's for sure. Only you could in effect reject what two London based Christians say in favour of a very questionable Russian news channel that is based in the Kremlin.

Seraphim,

I do not see where I have rejected what two London based Christians say?

In fact I invited you to say more about it.

So yes, please keep us up to date on what is happening in London.

No of course you don't!

Glad you picked it up.

I have heard this predicted on many so called conspiracy sites.

That people would eventually beg their governments to implement the police state.

Seems like it is really happening:

Yep, I don't see the government doing anything to fix the underlying problems.

They are just fixing the symptoms of the problems the government themselves caused and refuse to resolve.

The underlying problems are being ignored.

Has that been the plan all along?

RE: Riots in England

I seem to remember Paul talking about it not being without reason that they carry the sword, and back in his time they really did carry the sword. Abe you should appreciate how much better things are now rather than the old non-factual view that things have never been so bad. In so many ways its not the case but if one only ever looks at the bad that's all one will see I guess. I also remember Paul talking about keeping ones mind on the good. You know praiseworthy things ect and to continue considering those things.

RE: Riots in England

Seraphim,

When I connect to the spirit of God I get comfort through the hope it brings that there will indeed be good stuff in the future, after God intervenes.

At the present time, I seldom see any good stuff.

If you do, then please bring it to my attention.

Your to invested in not seeing it. That`s what I mean about the spirit of God. The spirit being his personalty. God concentrates on our good even though we have much bad. The reason is because in doing so he stimulates our potential for good. Imagine if God concentrated on the bad! This is why Jesus didn't go around reminding everyone about every current disaster. Instead he concentrated on trying to make things better by giving hope, not just on some future but on how to make a difference for the better now and even on improving ones political landscape, and the relationship with those in and with power. Also on those without power and those who thought they didn't have power even though they did.

One of the things the riots have produced are examples of youth and older ones gathering together to protect each other by tiding other peoples premises up even though they were not affected by the riots. Community spirit has had a chance to show itself that would not have occurred otherwise. Hence Paul's advice to consider it joy when trials come along. Its because trial give opportunity's for good. Imagine if their was no deficit or want in the world! Generosity could not and would not exist. Imagine if their were no trials in the world! No one would be or could be brave. Salvation comes in face of bad in this world, not in the next, and not in the face of good for those who respond to bad with good, and also for those who recognise the good. Hence a torture of the cross was bad but good. Depends on how you look at it. With spiritual eyes or with fleshly ones?

If you seldom see any good stuff then you fundamentally don't understand Gods personality. Christ didn't ask people to pray for Gods will to be done on earth with 99.9999% of them ever having the possibility of ever seeing it in their life times, or because God has a bad memory and needs reminding every five seconds. The same is true for the prayer for Gods kingdom to come. It was because they could do it in their life time in their own domain of influence on the people they know. They can enter into the kingdom of God now because its within. That`s how some will never die at all. Shakespeare had it right when he said: "Cowards die many times before their deaths, The valiant never taste of death but once." And if I can add `and then the resurrection`.

Dear Abe,

With all due respect, you may think you are watching world events that have according to your view significance to the fulfillment of prophesy. Unfortunately, your perception is very selective. You seem to be very much preoccupied by the scene in England which some thugs create while stealing some iPods they can't afford any longer. That has nothing to do with us living in the last days.

On the other hand, I wonder how the millions upon millions of people who have to deal with famine and are dying by the hundreds of thousands in Africa escape your attention. Doesn't the russian tv broadcaster you are so fond of refering bring that news?

Yep, thats what I am doing. I keep on watching events in the world which may be fulfilling those end time prophecies that Jesus Christ told us to watch for.

Somalia has not escaped my attention.

Matthew 24:7-8
For nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be food shortages and earthquakes in one place after another. 8 All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.

and to think thats just a beginning.

If you find something really good happening in the world then let me know.

It might be nice if we could have a thread where people could post all the good stuff they see happening in the world.

Maybe this will lighten this sombre thread.
