Psalm 34--

written by David after he pretended to be insane before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he left...David was feeling very relieved and grateful to God..... :heartbeat: ..this is a poem of david and they always reflect his great faith. It is so easy to see why David was muchly loved of God...... :heartbeat:
Some highlights :heartbeat:

''I will extol the LORD at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips. (1)
''My soul will boast in the LORD;
Let the afflicted hear and rejoice. (2)
Glorify the LORD with me;
let us exalt his name together.'' (3)

''I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears. (4)
''Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame. (5)
This poor man called, and the LORD heard him;
and saved him out of all his troubles. (6)
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear
him,
and he delivers them,'' (7)

and today's featured section :heartbeat:

''Come, my children, listen to me;
I will teach you the fear of the LORD. (11)
Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days, (12)
keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking lies. (13)
Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.'' (14) ..timely advice written many many years ago ...this council is repeated many times throughout scripture and is necessary to abide by as it reflects our pursuit of peace as well as our character...every good thing about this life is wrapped up in the Lord :heartbeat:

''If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his worship is worthless.'' James 1:26

''He committed no sin,
and no deceit was found in his mouth.'' 1 Peter 2:22

and finally for today concerning our attitude and speech :heartbeat:

''Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing,
because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.''
1 Peter 3:9 ....

have a wonderful day friends--it is still pouring rain and now I am wondering if it is going to rain until it turns to snow (don't say that word) ..we will see but it sure is a distinct possibility...love you all :grouphug:

''In the midst of winter I finally learned that in me there was an invincible summer.'' Albert Camus
